Family Penguin Woodturning Experience Session

Join us and try your hand at woodturning!
Over the course of around 3 hours, you and your family will be expertly guided through the process of making your own cute turned wooden penguin.
Sessions can be booked for families up to 4 people. Note that as I have 3 lathes there will be some taking turns but everyone will get the opportunity to complete their penguin.
I have taught children as young as 8 to do this but for those less than 10 years old I will hold the tools with them to ensure safe operation.
Under 18s must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian (either as a fellow turner or an observer).
All experience sessions are in my workshop based in the Westbury Wildlife Park in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol.

I am happy to discuss tailoring sessions and considering other times. Please let me know if you have any particular requests before booking.
Please be aware that woodturning involves standing up at the lathe for long periods.
There will be a tea break partway through the session, either at the Westbury Wildlife Park Foundation cafe if during open hours or provided by Trym Woodcraft.
Under 18s should be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can either be another participant (please book their place at the same time) or as an observer.
