Old rectangular galvanised steel cold water tank

The sides and base of the tank have been cut away to leave 4 legs with cross bars and the top edges

A plywood top has been added under the rivetted corners and wooden bar joining the 2 pairs of legs

Watertank Coffee Table

A neighbour was having their loft boarded out and was getting rid of this old galvanised steel cold watertank.

I loved the rivets on the sides and corners and wanted to make something that used them as a feature. I cut away the bits I didn't need, added a bar to strengthen the legs and some plyboard for a top and this coffee table was the result!

Drawers have been shortened, sprayed bright yellow, given oak handles and mounted in an oak frame

Filing Cabinet

This drab grey filing cabinet needed some brightening up.

I trimmed it down to better proportions, gave it a vibrant paint finish and added a frame and handles made from reclaimed oak table legs, keeping their stained patina.

1950s Utility Cupboard

This cupboard was destined for the tip. The back, top and plinth were rotten, one of the plyboard sides had water damage and the drawer bottoms were falling out, jamming the drawers shut. It was hard to see what was holding the front on but it still had a certain charm.

I replaced the damaged parts with reclaimed wood, repainted it in a pale green. and finished it off with handmade oak handles and a matching oak top.
